Baseball & Softball

Baseball age is determined by child's age as of May 1, 2019

 Softball age is determined by child's age as of January 1, 2019

Ages below are a guideline only -Placement is based on ability, maturity.  Baseball runs from May-June except for Babe Ruth which runs June-July:

• 4 year old T-Ball Skills & Drills: 4 yrs olds only; Practice one day a week with no scheduled games;
• INSTRUCTIONAL: 5-6 yrs old, players hit from a tee with coach pitching introduced, outs not recorded;
• ROOKIES: 6-9 yrs old, coach pitched, each player gets at most seven swings at bat, strikeouts recorded, three out rule applies, no stealing;
• MINORS/MAJORS: 8-12 yrs old, player pitch, standard youth baseball rules apply; (Players must attend assessment to move to Minors/Majors - Date to be determined and will be posted on facebook and our website)
• BABE RUTH:13-15 yrs old, player pitch, standard youth baseball rules apply, no assessment needed;

Please note that 5-6 year old girls are encouraged to have 1 year of instructional baseball experience before playing softball. With the exception of Senior Softball, Softball is part of the Oxford Hills Spring Softball League. The season runs from May through June. Senior Softball is part of the Oxford Hills Summer League and runs June-July.

• MINORS: 9-13 yrs, Grades 4-7, player pitch, standard youth softball rules apply

• SENIORS: 14-19 yrs old, player pitch, standard youth softball rules apply, no assessment needed
